Task Force Bangon Marawi executive director, Defense Undersecretary Cesar Yano, chaired the meeting that was attended by the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and Civil Defense administrator and representatives of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, departments of national defense, public works, education, health, science and technology, budget, and trade, National Economic and Development Authority, National Housing Authority, National Electrification Authority, Office of Civil Defense, and Mindanao Development Authority.

By virtue of Administrative Order No. 3, Task Force Bangon Marawi was organized to lead the recovery, reconstruction and rehabilitation efforts for communities affected by the Marawi crisis.

Yano was designated by NDRRMC chairperson and Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana as the executive director of the task force during the recent special/emergency NDRRMC full council meeting.

The task force has been tasked to organize and deploy a quick response team that will address the immediate needs of Marawi City's displaced and severely affected families.

It has also been directed to facilitate the conduct of post-conflict needs assessment in Marawi and develop a comprehensive rehabilitation and recovery program for the city and other affected areas.

“Task Force Bangon Marawi shall bear the build back better principle in its rehabilitation and recovery efforts, steering a culture of peace in Marawi communities and the rest of Mindanao,” Yano said.
