BUKIDNON-an NPA member killed in an encounter with the government troops this morning in Quezon, Bukidnon.
The elements of the 8th Infantry DEPENDABLE Battalion encountered the NPA in the vicinity of Brgy Mahayag, Quezon, Bukidnon. The troops were conducting the security patrol in the area when the NPA rebels engaged them. After the firefight, which lasted for several minutes, the government troops recovered one (1) body count and one (1) M16 rifle.
The Philippine Army will continue to perform its mandate of securing the people. This is our service to nation. Thru our efforts, and the support of the local government and other stakeholders, we will quell this country of threats that hinder its further development.
