The military denied reports that poison was mixed with one of the bombs that was dropped in Marawi City, Lanao Del Sur, in order to eradicate the Maute terror group.

During a press briefing, Lieutenant Colonel Jo-ar Herrera, spokesperson of Task Force Marawi, clarified that there is no truth in reports stating that Armed Forces of the Philippines is using chemicals for their airstrikes.

According to Lt. Herrera, military operations follows the rules of war.

The AFP official also appealed that the public do not believe on fake news that are being posted in the social media.

Herrera insist that the people must believe the authorities who are legitimate sources of news regarding the conflict in Marawi.

The spokesperson of TF Marawi further added that the surgical strikes in the war zone of Marawi will continue, and will only target members of Maute terror group and Abu Sayyaf group.
