From the Philippine News Agency (May 11): PHL, US naval units to conduct CMA-S off Aurora this May 15
Filipino and American units will be performing their so-called "Civil Military Activities from the Sea" (CMA-S) off Casiguran town, Aurora this coming May 15.
This is one of the highlights of this year's "Balikatan" exercises, which involves the maritime transport of relief goods and supplies to a community devastated and isolated by massive typhoon.
Ships from the Philippine Navy, US Navy and Coast Guard will be taking part in the CMA-S which will place off the beach near the Aurora Pacific Ecozone Airport in Casiguran town.
Philippine "Balikatan" spokesperson Major Frank Sayson earlier said culminating event for the CMA-S drills are the landing of relief items and supplies.
"I cannot tell you yet how many assets will be committed by the participants but definitely, the Armed Forces of the Philippines will be fielding many for this activity," he added.
This year's "Balikatan" exercises started on May 8 and end on the 19th.
