From the Philippine News Agency (Apr 20): 4 PNP officers promoted to star rank
Four officers of the Philippine National Police (PNP) were promoted to the start rank (Chief Superintendent).
The rank of Chief Superintendent is equivalent to Brigadier General in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
PNP chief Director General Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa led the conferment of rank ceremony Thursday for the newly-promoted officers.
Dela Rosa administered the oath to the four new police generals, including PNP Public Information Office (PIO) chief and spokesman Chief Supt. Dionardo Carlos.
Aside from Carlos, also promoted were Chief Supt. Jose Briones of the Police Regional Office in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-ARMM), Chief Supt. Lito Petallano of the PRO5 (Bicol Region) and Chief Supt. Debold Sinas.
