From Update Philippines (Apr 20): US Army posthumously awards Filipino Scout



United States Army Pacific (USARPAC), April 19, posthumously awarded the Purple Heart medal to Filipino Scout Private First Class Adriano Alagon died while serving with the Philippine Scouts during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines. He served under the 14th Engineer Battalion, Philippine Scouts.

US Army Pacific commander General Robert B. Brown and Commanding General and USARPAC Command Sgt. Maj. Bryant Lambert presented the medal to Elisea Alagon Jamoralin, daughter of Alagon.

“Brown presented Jamoralin with a replacement Purple Heart medal to replace the original that was lost during the turmoil and chaos of post-World War II Philippines,” USARPAC said.
