From Update.Ph (Feb 17): Russia, Philippines security councils secretariat hold 3-day meeting

Philippines National Security Council Secretariat led by National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon and Security Council of the Russian Federation led by Secretary of the Security Council Nikolay P. Patrushev conducted a three-day meeting in Davao City that ended February 16, this was revealed by NSA Esperon Friday, February 17.

The bilateral talks tackled government-to-government cooperation in the fields of security and intel, defense and military, law enforcement, terrorism and transnational crime, anti-illegal drugs, and maritime law enforcement.

Memorandum of Understanding on the above mentioned cooperation is currently on the works and expected to be signed when President Rodrigo Duterte meets Russian President Vladimir Putin in Russia.

The 3-day event in Davao City was capped with a dinner with President Duterte at the Marco Polo Hotel. Duterte also met the Russian delegation at the Presidential Guest House in Panacan, Davao City.
