From the Philippine News Agency (Feb 17): 2 troopers, 2 rebels killed in Davao City clash
Two troopers were killed while another two rebels were slain following an encounter in Calinan District, Davao City Thursday afternoon.
In the same encounter, 10 soldiers were also wounded.
The incident took place around 4:20 p.m. along the boundary of Barangay Lacson and Barangay Lamanan.
Reports indicated that a patrol of 3rd Infantry Battalion troops were conducting pursuit operations against suspected rebels when they encountered an undetermined number of insurgents, allegedly under the New People's Army's Southern Mindanao Regional Committee
In the ensuing clash, two soldiers were killed along with two rebels whose bodies were recovered.
Ten troopers were also wounded in the clash. Pursuit operations are still ongoing as of this time.
