In line with its 53rd founding anniversary this coming
September, the Philippine Army Nursing Service will undertake various community
activities as part of their celebrations.
Activities include tree planting at La Mesa Dam in Quezon
City on Aug. 18; fun run at Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA) ground on Aug.
25; visit to orphanage at Bahay Maria Orphanage in Bel-Air Village, Makati City
on Aug. 27; health care fair and bloodletting at HPA Grandstand on Aug. 29; and
the wreath-laying ceremony at Libingan ng mga Bayani on Aug. 30.
Army spokesperson Col. Benjamin Hao said this year's
anniversary theme is “Philippine Army Nursing Service on its 53rd year of
Commitment in Achieving Relevant and Excellent (CARE) quality health care
services.”
“Our 53rd founding anniversary will be highlighted by
various community events in partnership with various stakeholders,” PA chief
nurse Col. Nilda L. Nesperos said.
“Proceeds of the fun run will be used for the procurement of
hygiene kit, school supplies and lunch to be given to the children of Bahay
Maria Orphanage at Bel-Air Village in Makati
City ,” she added.
The Army Nursing Service is also encouraging all running
enthusiasts to participate in the fun run, with three categories - the 3k, 5k
and 10k running events.
Registration fee is PHP450 for the 3k, PHP550 for the 5k and
PHP750 for the 10k. Cash prizes will be given to the top 3 winners in all
categories.
