The President reiterated his willingness to resign in three to four years within his presidency if peace with the CPP and Muslim rebel groups is achieved.

And to further give service to the Filipino troops, President Duterte said that the increase in the soldiers’ wages would commence from August to December. He also asked the AFP officers to create an office dedicated to ensuring that bereaved families of soldiers who are killed-in-action (KIA) would receive proper compensation in a timely manner.
He added that the Philippine National Police (PNP) should also make an effort to do the same to the bereaved families of fallen police officers.
