FORT BONIFACIO, Taguig City (DWDD) – The Philippine Army will provide full military honors for the late former Army Chief Maj. Gen. Rodolfo A Canieso, who died last August 13 in Bacolod City.

The remains of the late Maj. Gen. Canieso is expected to arrive at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (LNMB) on August 18, 2016.

Public viewing is tentatively scheduled on Aug. 19 to 20. Necrological program is tentatively scheduled on Aug. 20.

At present, his remains lie-in-state at St. Peter Chapel in Alihis, Bacolod City.
His interment at the LNMB is tentatively scheduled on August 21, 2016.

The Army will provide all necessary military honors for a former Commanding General, Philippine Army, such as vigil, bugler/drummer, firing party, military host/pallbearers, escort and transportation, and arrival and departure honors.

The remains of Canieso will be laid to rest in Section 20 of LNMB were generals and flag officers-in-command are buried.

Canieso was known as one of the legendary artillery officers of the Philippine Army.
Canieso was the 28th Commanding General of the Philippine Army, who served from February 28, 1986 to July 1, 1987 during the administration of the late Pres. Corazon C. Aquino. OACPA / MCAG
