Philippine Army 82nd Infantry “Bantay-Laya” Battalion
Commander Lt. Col. Enriqueto Deocadez, Jr. said they look forward to President
Rodrigo R. Duterte's visit to the 3rd Infantry Division in Jamindan, Capiz on
Friday (Aug. 5).
Deocadez said in an interview with PNA they are very happy
that President Duterte has decided to make his first presidential visit to
their infantry in Panay island.
This shows that the Commander-in-Chief is really concerned
with the plight of Filipino soldiers, he said.
President Duterte vowed to prioritize the welfare of the
military during his six-year term, when he recently visited the Armed Forces of
the Philippines (AFP) Medical Center along V. Luna Road in Quezon City .
Deocadez said the President’s visit is also a manifestation
of his concern even for the field units of the Army.
Meanwhile, Deocadez said the Philippine Army is “back on its
normal mandate” after the President lifted the ceasefire with communist rebels.
He said that they are monitoring the movement of the
Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) to secure local communities.
