President Benigno S. Aquino III called on Friday on the
Filipino people to contribute to resolving successfully the Abu Sayyaf problem
in Mindanao which has adverse impact on the
country.
“Perhaps we can attend to the problem in a unified manner,”
President Aquino said in a media interview.
His call came days after the Abu Sayyaf Group beheaded
another Canadian hostage in Jolo, Sulu after his family failed to pay the
Php600-million ransom demand.
“Sana
we had one viewpoint of the Abu Sayyaf do present an issue or a problem that
impacts the country negatively and as 'di ba fellow patriots, let us assist
each other in resolving successfully the current situation,” the President
added.
The Chief Executive said his administration is enhancing
continuing operations against the Abu Sayyaf Group.
