From the Visayan Daily Star (Apr1): Moises Padilla cops need augmentation
Senior Inspector Hector Balbon, newly-designated officer-in-charge of the Moises Padilla Police Station, wants to have an augmentation force to beef up the town police station.
Balbon said yesterday that the recent liquidation of former Army MSgt. Armando Secuya in Brgy. Guinpana-an, Moises Padilla, by suspected New People's Army assassins, bolstered intelligence reports that the rebel group has deployed its Special Partisan Unit members in Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental, and its neighboring areas in central Negros, including the towns.
Secuya used to be a former Army intelligence non-commissioned officer, Balbon said.
He raised the possibility that the killing of Secuya may be related to his former job as an Army intelligence operative.
But he doused speculations that his death may have been related to politics, as his wife, Guinpana-an kagawad Emmy Secuya, is running for councilor in Moises Padilla.
The recent town fiesta of Moises Padilla ended peacefully, with no untoward incident taking place.
Balbon thanked the Philippine Army for helping him in the maintenance of peace and order during the town fiesta.
The Moises Padilla Police Station has been on red alert status, following the liquidation activity of suspected NPA rebels in one of its barangays.
Balbon said he is hopeful that the Moises Padilla police will be reinforced soon by neophyte police officers, who recently completed their basic police training.
