From Update.Ph (Mar 31): IN PHOTOS: US Sailors, Marines arrive in Subic for Balikatan

American Sailors and Marines who will take part in Balikatan 2016 have arrived March 30 in Subic aboard United States Naval Ship Millinocket.
American troops arrived together with their vehicles to be used in the said joint exercise.

Balikatan 2016 will officially open next week, however, pre-Balikatan activities have started several days ago. Balikatan will run until April 15.

An estimated 3,773 Filipino soldiers and 4,904 US troops will participate in the two-week military maneuvers.

The purpose of Balikatan 16 is to strengthen interoperability and partner-nation capabilities for the planning and execution of military operations, and advance regional security operations.
