A total of 121 Police Chief Inspectors (PCInsp) were
promoted to the next higher rank during a simultaneous mass oath-taking and
pinning of ranks on Monday held at PNP National Headquarters, and different
police offices and units.
In the PNP National Headquarters, there are 57
newly-promoted Police Superintendents assigned at Crame-Based National Support
Units, Command Group and Directorial Staff.
“Leaders, you and me, lead to walk the talk. When you say
walk the talk, show them how to do these things; be there ahead of everybody;
be on the ground; and lead the people. That’s the leadership demand these
days.” Chief PNP, Police Director General Ricardo Marquez said.
“Think of ourselves last. When we get promoted, much much
more is expected from us," Marquez said adding that he urge the newly
promoted officers to work with confidence and character.
Out of 146 applicants, 121 applicants have passed the
examination and interviews for the Calendar Year 2016 Police Superintendent
Continuous Promotion Program and were found qualified for promotion effective
Feb. 18, 2016.
Promotion worksheets and resolutions submitted by the
various Promotion Committees were assessed and the Board concurred with the
recommendations of the different Police Superintendent Promotion Board for the
promotion of the 121 qualified Police Chief Inspectors.
The observance of mass promotion is to give honor and
recognition to newly-promoted PNP uniformed personnel as well as to uplift the
morale of the police force.
