From ABS-CBN (Dec 11): Blast triggers 5-hour blackout in Cotabato

NORTH COTABATO - Another explosion toppled a tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) in Aleosan town, North Cotabato on Thursday night.

Authorities said an improvised explosive device (IED) was detonated at the base of NGCP Tower 68 in Sitio 1, Barangay Pagangan.

The incident caused a five-hour power loss in Cotabato City and nearby towns.

Authorities are still conducting an investigation to identify the perpetrators and the motive behind the incident.

Explosions earlier hit several towers of the NGCP in the province.
