From GMA News (Dec 29): BIFF victims given aid; PHL security forces prepare counter-offensive
Officials from the Social Welfare and Development Department and the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao's Emergency Assistance Response Team on Monday visited and provided financial assistance to the widows of the farmers executed by Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters gunmen.
The DSWD and the ARMM team provided each family with P10,000. The Maguindanao provincial government is also set to provide the families with aid: P10,000 in burial assistance and a sack of rice.
Meanwhile, Philippine security forces are preparing their counter-offensive against the BIFF, which had threatened to keep up attacks until the New Year.
Gen. Mayoralgo dela Cruz.
