Another transmission tower of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) was bombed in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur Friday night.

Marawi police deputy director S/Insp. Sainodin Benasing said the explosion hit the NGCP Tower 13 at Sitio Kurmatan, Barangay Matampay at 9:30 p.m.

Police and army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team recovered in the area a blue wire, masking tape and splinters believed to be from an improvised explosive device (IED).

The structure withstood the explosion.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident while NGCP has yet to assess the damage on the tower.

Last October 10, Two transmission towers of the NGCP were simultaneously bombed in Pikit, North Cotabato. The toppled towers are still undergoing restoration.

Authorities stopped an attempted bombing of another tower of the NGCP in Carmen, North Cotabato after finding IEDs underneath the structure on October 21.
