CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY
(DWDD) – The 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army and the
National Commission on Indigenous People-Region 10 (NCIP-10) has denied
knowledge on the existence of the Philippine Bagani Force Tribal Army.
In a joint statement released by LTC Rmualdo Raymund
Landingan, Assistant Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations (G7) 4ID and
Robert Almonte, Regonal Director, NCIP-10, they denied the existence of such a
group and if there are who claims as such they don’t have authority or
mandate to do so.
They added that it is unlawful of any person who is not a
member of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to wear AFP ranks and
uniform based on Republic Act 3815 of the revised Penal Code of the Philippines as
amended.
Bagani’s (tribal warriors) must be treated within the
context of customary laws of some Indigenous People (IP) / Indigenous Cultural
Communities in Mindanao .
In addition, the 4ID and the NCIP, incoordination with other
stakeholders are continuously working on programs for the betterment of our
