From the Philippine News Agency (Oct 29): Military units told to coordinate with police LGUs to ensure peaceful observance of All Saints' Day

With All Saints' Day just three days away, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) deputy chief-of-staff for operations Brig. Gen. Carlito Galvez ordered all military units to coordinate with their local governments and police counterparts to ensure the peaceful conclusion of the holiday.

This is to ensure no lawless elements or groups will take advantage of the situation by way of terror attacks.

Galvez added that all AFP Unified Commands are tasked to do the following:

-To intensify intelligence operations so all of the major areas of convergence;

-Security coverage to include physical patrols, also the directive likeiwse showed that unit commanders should remind the troops of force protection issues even while performing unrelated tasks for personal security;

-To exercise proactive measures against kidnapping of prominent and target personalities, officials at their respective area of their operations in coordination with their counterpart authorities.
