Units of the 9th Infantry Division are now pursuing the New
People's Army (NPA) band who torched four units of engineering equipment in
Mandaon town, Masbate Monday early morning.
In a belated report, Capt. Mardjorie Paimela Panesa, 9th
Infantry Division public affairs office chief, said the incident took place 4
a.m. in Barangay Dayao, of the above-mentioned locality.
Destroyed were one backhoe, two dump trucks, and a cement
mixer owned by the Hitone Construction and Development Corporation.
Panesa said the company was building a connecting road from
Barangay Alas to Barangay Tagpu when attacked by the NPA bandits for still
unknown reasons.
Investigation and pursuit operations are still ongoing as of
this posting.
