Bataan, Compostela

Eastern Mindanao Command public affairs office chief Capt.
Alberto Caber said on Sunday the government security troops were conducting
routine patrols when they were fired upon by about 20 NPA fighters from the
Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.
The wounded soldier was immediately brought to a medical
facility for treatment.
Caber said the rebels quickly fled after a 20-minute
firefight.
A concerned citizen reported that there were wounded NPA
members who were carried by their companions during their withdrawal.
Pursuit operations are ongoing.
