CAMP GEN. SIMEON A. OLA, Legazpi City -- New
People's Army (NPA) rebels shot dead a former member of the Citizens Armed
Forces and Geographical Unit (CAFGU) who was on his way home at Purok 2,
Barangay Inararan, Bulan, Sorsogon on Friday afternoon.
A police report said Catalino Guray, a married farmer, was
going home at Barangay Aquino at about 2:50 p.m. after visiting a friend when
three young men armed with .45-caliber pistols approached him and shot him on
his head and body.
The rebels then casually walked away, leaving behind Guray's
dead body and astounded witnesses.
The report said the rebels had suspected the victim as
giving information on their activities in the village even though he had
already left the CAFGU.
