Two members of the communist New People's Army (NPA) were arrested following a brief firefight in Gubat, Sorsogon Saturday afternoon, the military said.
The soldiers were
sent to the area after receiving a report about the presence of armed men in
one of the houses in the area. The soldiers were fired upon while approaching
the house.
"After five
minutes, the NPAs were able to escape but two of their comrades were left and
subsequently captured by the troops," said Guzman.

Guzman.

realized and felt…With our focused military operations and the participation of
the civil society, we are optimistic that the insurgency problem in region will
be resolved soon," said Solcom chief Lt. Gen. Ricardo Visaya.
