From the Philippine Information Agency (Aug 11): NPA perpetrator in killing captured, charged

CAMP EVANGELISTA, Cagayan de Oro City – The joint elements from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and 58th Infantry “Dimalulupig” Battalion successfully apprehended the two New People’s Army (NPA) members who are perpetrators of attacking Medina PNP Station last August 27, 2011 that left one PNP personnel and a rebel killed and responsible in murdering the three un-armed and off-duty CAFGU Active Auxiliary (CAA) members assigned with Hindangon Patrol Base in Barangay Hindangon, Gingoog City on July 19, this year.

The two NPAs identified as Danilo Lampusay a.k.a Dan-Dan and Ejohn Lampusay were both apprehended last August 3, 2015 at Purok 2, Barangay Minalwang, Claveria, Misamis Oriental by virtue of warrant of arrest and with the help of a former rebel who pinpointed their location.

Based on the revelation from their former comrades, the two are regular members of Sangay sa Partido Pampropaganda 3, Guerilla Front 4B, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (SPP3, GF4B, NCMRC) under Open Hangadon a.k.a Tingcas who led the recent attack at Hindangon CAA Patrol Base and murdered the three CAA members.

The two individuals were also found to be implicated in the attack of Medina PNP Station of Medina town in Misamis Oriental.

Major General Oscar T Lactao, commander of the 4th Infantry Division said, “While the two are on the hot seat, their leader, who is the brain behind the attack remains at large. This is the consequence when you join the NPA. There will be nobody, not even your leaders, will come to your aid when you are put in a situation that warrants you to justify your unlawful actions. You are on your own to tend the charges against you. Soon the long arms of the law will reach their leaders and will face all the crimes they’ve committed against humanity.”

“Let this serve as a lesson to all members of NPAs and to those who are planning to join the armed struggle. NPA leaders are not concerned about your welfare, they are only using you to pursue their vested interest and in destroying the hopes and dreams of Filipinos in achieving peace and development. I urge you to contemplate and come to a decision of leaving the armed struggle and return to mainstream society and live a normal life with your love ones”, said MGen Lactao. (4ID PA)
