Government troopers unearthed an abandoned New People's Army
(NPA) camp in Labo town, Camarines Norte Sunday morning.
Capt. Mardjorie Panesa, 9th Infantry Division spokesperson,
said troopers of the 49th Infantry Battalion discovered the camp at about 11
a.m. Sunday while conducting routine security patrols at the vicinity of Barrio
Bana and Barangay Exciban, Labo town.
The rebel camp belonged to the NPAs' "Paaralang
Politiko-Militar ng Armando Catapia Command."
Panesa said that the abandoned base contained a
multi-purpose hall, a kitchen, two comfort rooms, eight bunkers and eight
sentinel posts.
