A still unidentified man and a child was killed following a
blast which also wounded 15 others inside an elementary school in Pontevedra,
Capiz, Monday noon, a disaster official said.
Both victims were declared dead at the hospital where they
were taken after the blast, Capiz Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Office executive officer Espidiron Pelaez said.
Initial reports indicated the unidentified man was the one
who detonated the explosive which went off beside the Lantangan Elementary School
Most of the wounded are elementary school students. Local
police are now at the scene to determine the circumstances of the blast and
what type of explosive went off, Pelaez said.
