238 new soldiers join army command

From the Philippine News Agency (Dec 16): 238 new soldiers join army command

CAMP MELCHOR DELA CRUZ, GAMU, Isabela -- At least 238 new soldiers who have undergone rigid training on jungle warfare and mountain operation course officially joined the Philippine Army today.


The soldiers have sworn allegiance before 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army commanding general Major General Lysander Suerte held at the camp’s grandstand.

Newly-installed 5ID commander Suerte said that the graduation of 147 candidate soldiers of the CSC Class 358 – 2014 and 91 candidate soldiers of CSC – 359 – 2014 is an important event as the there will again be added peacekeepers of the country.

Suerte expressed thanks to the families and love ones of the new soldiers for giving the opportunity of the soldiers to join the soldiery to maintain peace and prosperity in the area of operation of the army division.

The new soldiers, after taking the oath of allegiance were entrusted to them their respective firearms to be used in maintaining peace and order.

Private First Class Albert Orquiano topped the Class 358 and Private First CLass Rickson Aggarao topped the CSC class 359.

The new soldiers of 5ID Class 358 and 359 have undergone a six-month rigorous training and honed their skills on jungle warfare and mountain operations.

The soldiers will be deployed in the different units of the 5th Infantry Division, Philippine Army whose jurisdiction includes Regions 2, Cordillera Administrative Region and some parts of region 1.
