The
Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is developing a plan which will fence and
upgrade the dilapidated facilities of the country's premier military school.
The
Department of National Defense (DND), in Tuesday's budget hearing at the House
of Representatives, stated that there is a need to fence the PMA's 300-hectare
complex to prevent squatters from encroaching.
The
DND is requesting a budget of Php141.85 billion for 2015.
Aside
from fencing, the plan will also upgrade worn and dilapidated barracks, school
rooms and offices, in order to make it more conducive for the study and
training of military cadets.
The
DND said that PMA development plan will be out by December.
It
also expressed hope that Congress will provide the necessary funds needed for
the PMA upgrade.
