NBI arrests Pamatong at NAIA 3

From the Philippine News Agency (Sep 3): NBI arrests Pamatong at NAIA 3

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested Elly Pamatong at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Wednesday night.

However, the arrest of Pamatong has nothing to do with the foiled bombing attempt at the NAIA last Monday, but rather, it was in connection with the pending warrant of arrest for the case of inciting sedition, illegal possession of firearms and malicious mischief.

Pamatong was arrested at the NAIA 3 upon his arrival from Cagayan de Oro City.

The NBI earlier said that they will summon Pamatong in connection with the failed attack at the airport.

Pamatong has admitted that he knew one of the arrested suspects in the failed NAIA attack who was said to be a member of the USAFFE (United States Armed Forces in the Far East).

He became known to the public when he ran for president but was disqualified.

Pamatong was also accused of being behind the scattering of "spikes" in EDSA (Epifanio delos Santos Avenue) which deflated many vehicles.
