Tiongson said the encounter lasted for five minutes that later saw the disorganized enemy who scampered at different direction as they withdrew towards the forested area avoiding further head-on clash with superior fire power government soldiers.
The government troopers suffered no casualty during the firefight with several injured on the part of the fleeing enemy as traces of bloodstains have been seen along their route of escape.
The pursuing government forces gave chase against the enemy until they stumbled on the rebel camp located at a secluded sitio in the hinterlands of Brgy. Igcabugao.
Tiongson said the rebel camp has an estimated area of around 700 square meters with makeshift facility that could accommodate 100 cadres as well as firing range.
The camp, he said, was believed to be the training ground of rebels bomb makers based on several recovered items like wirings and other related paraphernalia in making improvised explosive and signs of ground explosion activities.
