Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) personnel have recovered the body of a junior officer of the Philippine Air Force (PAF) who reportedly drowned while swimming in the waters of Barangay Tarangotong, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur last Sunday.

Belated reports reaching the PCG headquarters in Manila identified the victim as a certain Lt. Alvin Lagria, 29, a resident of Barangay Libtong also in Tagudin town.

According to reports, the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Candon received a call from a retired Navy personnel later identified as Tarcleno Rosuena, of Barangay Libtong, informing them that Lagria went missing while having a dip at the waters of said barangay.

CGSS Candon immediately responded along with the victim’s relatives and neighbors and recovered Lagria more than a hour later.

The victim was brought to the nearest hospital in Tagudin but attending doctors declared him dead.
