A suspected ranking member of the Communist Party of the Philippines, the New People’s Army, was arrested at a mall in Baguio City over the week. Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong, Cordillera police chief, identified the suspect as Grayson Magranga Naogsan, aliases Jose, Jayson, Fagway and Cynthian, an alleged member of the Kilusang Larangang Guerilya Maco ICRC and the East Chico Line Team of the communist rebels. He has a P3,200,000.00 bounty for his arrest. Naogsan was arrested on Monday, at Mister Donut, 3rd floor of SM City Baguio by joint operatives of the Regional Intelligence Unit 14, Regional Intelligence Division, PRO-COR, Baguio City Police Office, the Mountain Province Provincial Police Office and the Military Intelligence Group 1 of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.  Magalong said that Naogsan is facing two counts of murder and one count of frustrated murder. He is the son of Simon Naogsan, the top rebel leader in the Cordillera region. Magalong said that the arrested rebel leader was brought to the General Headquarters, Intelligence Group, Camp Crame in Quezon City for documentation prior to his turnover to the court of origin.
