After the signing of the historic Framework Agreement last month, the peace panels of both the Government of the Philippines (GPH) and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) will now dig into the nitty-gritty of the agreement to flesh out the details of the annexes, particularly power and wealth sharing. Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process Teresita Quintos-Deles announced on Monday that the 33rd round of formal exploratory talks between the GPH and MILF will be held in Kuala Lumpur this week. “We expect this round to be difficult as both parties will be fleshing out the annexes on power-sharing, wealth-sharing and normalization,” Deles said in a text message to the Philippines News Agency. Deles did not state any specific date when the talks will resume, saying only “this week.” “We continue to ask for our people’s support to this process as we hope to fast-track (the) work on the annexes to meet for a comprehensive agreement by the end of the year,” she said....
