Bohol Governor Erico Aris Aumentado said the armed encounter killing six suspected members of the New People’s Army in Bilar town on September 7 was an isolated case.

The provincial government had the situation under control, said Aumentado.

He also assured Bol-anons that the province remained a peaceful place to stay. (https://tinyurl.com/26hd3vr4)

The governor also urged the communist rebels to put down their arms and support the government’s peace initiatives.

“As always, I appeal that they (rebels) will choose the peaceful way of life by returning to the fold of our government,” Aumentado said in a September 8, 2023 statement.
