Hadji Panglima Tahil, one of the island municipalities of Sulu is now ready for further development after the Municipal Task Force in Ending Local Armed Conflict (MTF-ELAC) declared Hadji Panglima Tahil as Abu Sayaff Free Municipality on Wednesday (23 August 2023).
With the joint efforts of the 1103rd Infantry “Kalis” Brigade and the Local Government Unit of Hadji Panglima Tahil, the said municipality is finally ASG-Free.
The event was graced by BGen Christopher C Tampus, Commander of 1103IBDE together with Ms Patricia Burahan, Municipal Administrator and OIC Mayor, PLT Roselyn Del-is, Chief of Police and Hon. Ridzmal S Jiloh, SB Chairman.
Following the declaration, BGen Tampus said “I honoring the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to achieve what the Tausug people are longing for, lasting Peace”. He also emphasized that after this peace that we are embracing, they should start being productive and travel the road to prosperity.
