CAVINTI, Laguna – On April 11, 2023, 41 former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) who surrendered to authorities in Quezon, received their benefits under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP) totaling PhP2,965,933.78 during a simple ceremony held at the Governor’s Office, Provincial Capitol, Lucena City, Quezon.

The benefits which include the immediate assistance, livelihood assistance and firearms remuneration were formally handed-over by Hon. Angelina DL Tan, Provincial Governor, Dir. Darrel I. Dizon, CESO V, Provincial Director, DILG Quezon; Brigadier General Cerilo C. Balaoro Jr., Commander, 202nd Brigade, 2ID, PA and other representatives from member agencies.

One of the recipients appreciated the effort of the government in facilitating their integration back to their communities. “Kami po ay nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga ahensya ng gobyerno na tumutulong po sa amin. Handa po kaming tumulong sa ating gobyerno na manghikayat pa ng aming mga natitirang kasamahan na magbalik-loob upang makamit namin ang tunay na kapayapaan”.

Hon. Angelina DL Tan, Provincial Governor, welcomed the recipients to the side of the government. She thanked them not only for returning to the folds of the law but most importantly for trusting the government that they will be taken care of. ” Your Provincial Government of Quezon will continue to provide additional benefits and services to all of you as we prepare you back to the mainstream society. May you utilize this financial assistance you have received today to start new lives with your families.” she added

BGen Cerilo C Balaoro Jr, 202Bde Commander commended the concerted efforts among different line agencies for their continuous and relentless assistance to the former rebels. “This activity is a clear statement of the government’s sincerity in its call for the deceived members of the Communist Terrorist Group to return to the folds of the law and live a normal life with their families. We hope you encourage your fellow comrades to also trust the government and be peacefully reintegrated with the community and be a productive citizen of the country.” he added

ECLIP is a program of the national government that aims to provide a complete package of assistance to former members of the CPP-NPA, Milisya ng Bayan and National Democratic Front (NDF) who surrendered and opted to lead new lives and be part of the government’s effort towards lasting peace and development.
