Kuta Heneral Teodulfo Bautista, Jolo, Sulu – Maj. Gen. Ignatius Patrimonio, Commander of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu, attended the signing of Peace Covenant in the municipality of Lugus, Sulu, on the morning of March 27, 2022.

The Peace Covenant was organized by Commission on Election (COMELEC) Acting Election Officer Rohelmina Bara at the Parian Kawayan Covered Court in Lugus, Sulu. The Lugus Peace Covenant was created to support the government’s campaign towards a safe, accurate, free, and fair National and Local Elections this coming May 9, 2022.

“As the head of the military forces here in Sulu, I reaffirm the commitment of the entire Joint Task Force (JTF) Sulu to faithfully perform our mandated tasks in order to have an honest, orderly, and peaceful elections in the province of Sulu particularly here in Lugus,” said Maj. Gen. Patrimonio.

Maj. Gen. Patrimonio added, saying, “As delegated to us by the COMELEC, the JTF Sulu will faithfully perform our duties and responsibilities and we will work with our police counterparts and other law enforcement agencies to ensure the orderliness and sanctity of our elections.”

Present in the signing ceremony were Assistant Division Commander Brig. Gen. Antonio I Bautista, 1101st Infantry Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Eugenio Boquio,1102nd Infantry Brigade Commander Col. Giovanni Franza, and 2nd Special Forces Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Benito Ramos.

Also in attendance were Acting Provincial Election Supervisor IV Atty Untog Tago and Sulu Provincial Director Police Col. Jaime Mojica.

Acting Election Officer Rohelmina Bara led the Integrity Pledge before the electoral candidates. Thereafter, a signing of the peace agreement follows as manifestation and allegiance of support of candidates and other stakeholders.

“Over the years, the JTF Sulu has been a reliable and vigilant partner of the COMELEC, local government units, partner stakeholders, and other law enforcement agencies in ensuring peaceful and orderly elections. You can be rest assured that we will perform our duties and responsibilities in safeguarding the ballots of our people and perform our vital role to ensure the conduct of a secure, accurate, free, and fair National and Local Elections,” Maj. Gen. Patrimonio added.
