San Jose City – In a bid to ensure safety and peaceful filing of Certificates of Candidacy (COC) for May 9, 2022. National and Local Elections with a theme “Vote S.A.F.E (Secure, Accurate, Free and Fair Elections) PILIPINAS”, the 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion, 7th Infantry (KAUGNAY) Division, Philippine Army deployed troops as an augmentation to our PNP counterparts and other Law Enforcement Agencies to the municipal and provincial Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Nueva Ecija on 01 – 08 October 2021.
The deployment of the Victorious Troopers and other Law Enforcement Agencies would surely deter threats from any individual or groups who are planning to destroy the prevailing peace in the province. The filing of COCs will be over after an 8-day schedule including Saturday and Sunday set by the National Commission on Elections.
“Our Support to the COMELEC is our commitment to being apolitical but making sure that we are politically aware as well,” according to Lieutenant Colonel Enrico Gil C Ileto, Commanding Officer of 84th Infantry (Victorious) Battalion. He also added, that “The upcoming campaign period should be as peaceful as it is today, our forces are ready for any deputization duties as mandated by the Commission on Election.”
