CAMP GENERAL EMILIO AGUINALDO, QUEZON CITY – The 11th Civil-Military Operations (KAUGNAYAN) Battalion under LIEUTENANT COLONEL EUGENE PAUL B ARBUES INF (GSC) PA conducted Urban Gardening and Community Organizing Seminar with Ms Regine Guevara, ASEAN Youth Representative to the UN Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development and Mr Moncini A Hinay, Co-Founder of Kids Who Farm as the guest speakers last November 28, 2020 at Kaugnayan Hall, Headquarters 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion, Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
LTC ARBUES acknowledged the efforts of the guest speakers during his welcome address. He preferred the term “Farming” instead of “Gardening” for the word itself meaning you’ll have something to harvest for consumption. Subsequently, Ms Regine B Guevara expressed their vision to inspire the generation, of young people to be interested in farming, and at the same time had conscious efforts to contribute to the country, and ultimately, be our partner as it tights peace building for sustainable development.
The said seminar was participated by all troops of 11CMOBn especially the 2nd and 3rd Special Enabler Platoon which will be a great help to them in the conduct of Community Support Program in preparation for the upcoming Urban Gardening to their area of responsibility. The product of the said activity was a “plastic drum prototype pot” which will also be introduce to the community. This pot requires a minimum space but can hold multiple plants, ideal for limited space residential areas.
