Four female family members, including a minor, were killed while four others were injured when armed men fired on their house in Pikit, North Cotabato on Friday afternoon.

Capt. Mautin Pangandigan, Pikit police chief, identified those killed as Sittie Alipolo Abdullah, widow, 58; Zenaida Mustapha, 36; Laga Abdullah, 34; and a three-year-old girl.

Pangandigan said the wounded were Asria Abdulrajak Abdullah, 30, and three minors aged 13, eight, and seven.

All the victims are residents of Sitio Tugunan, Barangay Lagunde in Pikit.

Pangandigan said the victims were inside their house and were resting shortly after having lunch when four men arrived and peppered them with bullets using M16 rifles.

“Pursuit operations are ongoing,” Pangandigan said. Initial investigation said the possible motive in the incident could be personal grudge.
