Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan – A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the heads of Bulacan State University (BulSU)- City of Malolos Campus, 48th Infantry (Guardians) Battalion and 304th Bulacan Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) September 20, 2020.

The MOU signing, held in virtual via StreamYard, marks the partnership of BulSu, 48IB and 304th Bulacan RRIBn through a program called Brave Hearts Alliances and Initiatives + U (BUHAI) Skills Training that will provide 48IB personnel additional education in terms of industrial technology related to building wiring, automotive,video editing and welding trainings.

University President Dr. Cecilia S. Navasero- Gascon directed the BulSU’s College of Industrial Technology (CIT) headed by Dean Dr. Deno C. Piad to supervise the training with respect to the existing rules and regulations stipulated in the MOU and of the Inter-Agency Task Force for COVID-19.

Dr. Gascon, being the Guest of Honor and Speaker, emphasized the importance of the partnership and of the training in the advancement of learning and continuing academic education of every student.

The virtual MOU signing was done in the presence of 48IB Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio M. Valdez, 304th Bulacan Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Alberto J. Valenzuela (Res) PA, BulSU President Dr. Cecilia Gascon, Ph.D., Dean Keno C. Piad of CIT,BulSu Vice- President for Research Development and Extension Erwin DR. Magsakay and other representatives as witnesses.

It is expected that the building wiring training will be the first program to kick-off next week with invited lecturers and subject matter experts from BulSU’s College of Industrial Technology.

Brigadier General Andrew D. Costelo, 703rd Brigade Commander said, “I would like commend those who made this partnership possible as it entails trust, confidence and camaraderie in between parties for whatever endeavour they agreed. Congratulations and I wish you a fruitful and productive partnership with your Philippine Army.”

Lieutenant Colonel Felix Emeterio M. Valdez Commanding Officer of 48IB added,”My appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to Bulacan State University and 304th RRIBn for this opportunity given to the Guardians Battalion. The road to a world class Army will be possible knowing that we have your support. Your Guardians Battalion will be forever grateful for this.”
