Bunawan District, Davao City- Philippine Rural Development Project – Investment for Rural Enterprise for Agriculture & Fisheries Productivity (PRDP-IREAP) turned over to Tapak Farmers Marketing Cooperative (TFMC) worth 1.9 Million of Tractor with Trailer; P130,000 worth each of eight Spindle Stripping Machines and P19,000 worth each of four Weighing Scales with a total of P3,016,000 on August 20,2020 at Brgy Tapak Proper, Paquibato District, Davao City.





The ceremony was attended by Lt. Col. Silas D.Trasmontero Philippine Army, Commanding Officer, 89th Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division; Lt. Col. Donald P. Gaffud Executive Officer, 1003rd Brigade, 10ID; Dir. Ricardo Oñate Jr, DA XI; Engr. Edgardo Haspe, Asst Coy Agri, DC; Hon. Ralph Abella, City Councilor, 2nd Dist, DC; Hon. Rolly Latawan, Brgy Captain, Tapak, PDDC and different officials from other government agencies.

The project aims to strengthen and develop viable agri-fishery based enterprise through efficient value chains of key agricultural and fishery products in targeted areas that is funded for enterprise projects by the world Bank (Loan Proceeds), Department of Agriculture and Local Government Units.

Mayor Inday Sara Duterte-Carpio, in her message that was delivered by Engr. Haspe said, “Sa atong mga mag-uuma sa Tapak Farmers Marketing Cooprative, ang atong beneficiaries, dako ang akong pasalamat kaninyo sa inyong kontribusyon sa paglambo sa Siyudad sa Dabaw. Nanghinaot ko na inyong ampingan ning tractor, stripping machines ug timbangan aron magamit ninyo sa dugay pang panahon. Pahimoslan ninyo ni aron mapalambo ang inyong komunidad dinhi sa Tapak”.

Lt. Col. Gaffud who represented Brig. Gen. Nolasco A. Mempin in his message advised the farmers to use their machineries and equipment productively in order to alleviate them from poverty.

He also requested them to entice their relatives and friends who are still in the mountains to return to the folds of the law since there are many government programs and benefits that awaits them.

This project is a convergence of various stakeholders in support of EO 70 or Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict.
