TACLOBAN CITY, July 15 (PIA) -- The Municipal Task Force - ELCAC of Sta. Rita, Samar deployed Retooled Community Support Program (RCSP) Teams to several barangays of the municipality.

The RSCP teams composed of Peace, Law Enforcement and Development Support Cluster personnel from the PPO-Samar, 63IB, BFP, BJMP, and LGAs converged for the Send-Off Ceremony at the Sta Rita Municipal Gym on June 13, 2020.

The teams deployed to the different barangays will identify the primary and secondary issues that will be addressed by the LGUs and LGAs to bring the government closer to the people.

It was graced with the presence of Hon. Governor Reynolds Michael Tan of Samar, Dir. Karl Caezar Rimando of DILG8, PBGen Bernabe Balba, RD of PRO8 and MGen Pio Q. Diñoso III, commander of 8ID.

In his message, Mayor Joven P. Tiu committed the LGU’s full support for the program and the giving of 100 percent effort to end the insurgency in the area.

Governor Reynolds Michael Tan expressed his appreciation to the initiative of the Municipality in supporting the EO 70 and the PTF-ELCAC of Samar.

RCSP is a convergence mechanism for Local Government Units particularly in the barangay, for the identification of issues and needed government interventions.

The RCSP is anchored on the government framework that intends to develop people’s capability to organize themselves and own development by bringing about value-chain interventions to uplift their current condition.

The targeting of barangays for RCSP is based on the identification and prioritization of targets set by the National Task Force’s Focused Geographical Areas (FGDs).

Some eight (8) threatened barangays in the municipality of Sta. Rita are included in the proposed 437 focused areas in Eastern Visayas. (PIA-8 with 63IB)
