Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spokesperson Marine Brig. Gen. Edgard Arevalo took over the AFP Education, Training, and Doctrine Command (ETDC) as acting commander on Wednesday.
AFP vice chief-of-staff, Vice Adm. Gaudencio Collado Jr., led the turnover ceremony in Camp Aguinaldo, said Navy Captain Jonathan Zata, military public affairs office chief, in a statement.
Arevalo replaced Rear Adm. Adeluis Bordado, who will be assigned as the chief-of-naval staff.
Arevalo also served as the former head of the AFP public affairs office.
Activated in July 2017, the AFPETDC is mandated to centralize and manage all the training and professional military education of AFP uniformed personnel and the career advancement of its civilian staff.
