CAMP COL. RAFAEL C. RODRIGUES, Butuan City – Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Archie Francisco F. Gamboa handed awards to officers and personnel of the Caraga Police Regional Office 13 (PRO 13) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) for their exemplary performance at the regional command of PRO 13 here on Friday (Feb. 28).

The “Medalya ng Papuri” were given to 19 police officers of Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) for their invaluable services rendered in the construction of the Day Care Center from November 25, 2019 to February 13, 2020, while the “Medalya ng Kagalingan” were presented to P/Col. James T. Goforth, P/Col. Martin M. Gamba and P/Capt. Joemel L. Maquiling for demonstrating efficiency, devotion and outstanding gallantry in the collaborative effort in the intelligence build-up neutralizing an Islamic State-affiliated terrorist/kidnap-for-ransom group in Surigao del Sur.

Likewise, the Chief PNP handed plaque of recognitions to Maj. Gen. Franco Nemesio M. Gacal, commanding general of the AFPs Fourth Infantry (Diamond) Division, Army’s 401st Infantry (Unity) Brigade Col. Allan D. Hambala and 402ndInfantry (Stingers) Brigade Commander Brig. Gen. Maurito L. Licudine in the persistent drive against Communist terrorist groups through the AFP-PNP joint ISO Campaign Plan “Kapanatagan”.

Meanwhile, PRO 13 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Joselito T. Esquivel Jr., also personally gave the 8-bullet Challenge Badge to Gamboa and the other following officers, namely, P/Col. Jimili L Macaraeg; P/Col. Jerry V. Protacio; P/Col. Rogelio Z. Raymundo; P/Col. James T. Goforth and P/Corporal Guierlee T. Ebol.

The 8-Bullet Challenge set the guidelines and procedures to be undertaken by PRO13 to enhance the weapon and shooting skills of all PNP personnel in Caraga region.

“It is but fitting to give due recognition to the top-performing police officers which performed above par. May this serve as inspiration to all PNP personnel to do more and give their best in the performance of police duties,” said Esquivel.
