CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur-Barely a day after the discovery of a communist terrorists’ lair in Masbate, a cache of ammunitions this time were recovered by the government troops in Barangay Domagongdong, Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, Monday, March 10.

According to the report, members of the CTG surrendered and tipped-off the 9th Infantry (Sandigan) Battalion (9IB) about the stash of ammunitions. The troops and the PNP immediately conducted a joint security operation in the area where they spotted and seized different war materials.

Recovered items were 2,343 rounds of 7.62 ball ammunition, 5,000 rounds of 7.62 linked ammunition, six clipped magazine with eight rounds of ammunition each, 150 rounds of caliber .30 M1 ball carbine ammunition and 3,460 linked rounds believed to be of .30 caliber ammunitions.

Joint Task Force Bicolandia (JTFB) under MGEN FERNANDO T TRINIDAD AFP said that had it not been seized, the CTG could use the ammo to threaten communities, harm civilians and conduct their illegal activities.

Furthermore, Gen. Trinidad immediately directed the troops to do continuous intensified military operations in the area.

He expressed his gratitude to the members of the CTG who surrendered and formally decided to partake in ending the futile insurgency. In addition, he also encouraged other members of the CTG to do the same and return to the folds of law. He then assured the public of the intensive government’s efforts and campaigns along with their unending support in attaining sustainable peace and development.
