Ligan, in her welcome remarks, expressed her hopes for an improved quality of life among residents in Brgy. Nagbinlod.

The mayor also urged local government officials of Sta. Catalina to work as a team to achieve the goal of helping constituents especially in the hinterlands, saying “teamwork should be our area of strength."

Ligan said the top common concern identified by barangay officials during the Talakayan ng Mamayan is the provision of farm-to-market roads so farmers can deliver and sell their produce at a reasonable price in the poblacion.

With the government’s thrust of inclusive development, Ligan encouraged barangay residents in Nagbinlod and other barangays to support the government’s program and services and be one with them in achieving peace and progress in the hinterlands.

“A leader’s greatest challenge is to help improve and lift the quality of life of its people which is also the thrust President Duterte’s administration,” Ligan said.

Ligan thanked Gov. Roel Degamo, government officials from the national, regional, and provincial offices especially the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through Director Leocadio Trovela and the Office of the Provincial Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) for their commitment to address the problem on insurgency in Sta. Catalina.

In her closing statement, Ligan said: “We truly feel happy and grateful in our hearts, after all we need to be partners in building communities for a stronger nation so that through this endeavor, government services will be better.” (lpp/PIA7/Negros Oriental)
