SUBIC BAY FREEPORT ZONE -- Members of the Zambales Provincial Peace and Order Council convened for the drafting of a plan that will address gaps on peace and order and public safety.
The 2020-2022 Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan sought to improve the quality of life, where social protection initiatives are identified and prioritized based on the current peace and order and public safety situation and on the mission and vision of the province.
“We are encouraging local government units (LGUs) and partner national government agencies to come up with evidence-based proposals that will be highly instrumental in addressing peace and order and public safety problems in the province,” Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Provincial Director Armi V. Bactad said.

“The commitment of the LGUs is highly expected to not only craft the plan, but also in ensuring its sound implementation towards a safe and peaceful Zambales,” she added.
Topics discussed include police statistics on crime-related incidents, the anti-illegal drug campaign, whole-of-nation approach in the campaign to end local communist armed conflict, and proper utilization of POPS funds. (CLJD/CJFV-PIA 3)
